Why Flexible Packaging: The Sustainable Choice

Flexible packaging is increasingly recognized as the sustainable choice for several reasons.

Material Efficiency

The lighter weight of flexible packaging reduces the environmental impact associated with transportation, including lower fuel consumption and fewer emissions.

Reduction in Waste

Due to its efficient use of materials, flexible packaging generates less waste both in production and post-consumer stages.

Energy Efficiency

Flexible packaging often requires less energy than producing rigid packaging and its lightweight nature of flexible packaging means that more products can be transported per shipment.

Resource Conservation

Many flexible packaging options incorporate recycled materials and can be designed to be compostable or biodegradable, further conserving resources and reducing environmental impact.

Why Post Consumer Recycled (PCR): Give Your Packaging Another Life

Benefits of choosing packaging with Post Consumer Recycled (PCR) waste materials:

Reduced impact on natural resources

Supports circular economy

Reduces carbon footprint

Why Store Drop Off: How2Recycle

Yaxin Packaging is a current member of How2Recycle. We are committed to betterment of this planet through sustainability.

Recycled Ready H2R Materials

How2Recycle is a standardized labeling system that clearly communicates disposal instructions to the public, in effort to eliminate consumer confusion, drive responsible packaging design and improve the quality of recycled materials.

Many plastic bags, wraps, and films aren’t accepted in most curbside or drop-off programs. However, many of these packages are eligible for Store Drop-off recycling.

Bring your packages with the Store Drop-off label to participating retailers and place them in the collection bins near the front of the store. Not all types of plastic film are compatible with the Store Drop-off stream. Always look for the How2Recycle Store Drop-off label.

Sustainable Packaging:

  • Is beneficial, safe, and healthy for individuals and communities throughout its life cycle
  • Meets market criteria for both performance and cost
  • Is sourced, manufactured, transported, and recycled using renewable energy
  • Optimizes the use of renewable or recycled source materials
  • Is manufactured using clean production technologies and best practices
  • Is made from materials that are healthy throughout the life cycle
  • Is physically designed to optimize materials and energy
  • Is effectively recovered and utilized in biological and/or industrial closed loop cycles

All of our sustainable solutions hold the Global Recycled Standard (GRS), an international, voluntary standards that set requirements for third-party certification of recycled input and chain of custody. The shared goal of the standards is to increase the use of recycled materials. The GRS includes additional criteria for social and environmental processing requirements and chemical restrictions.

BRCGS’ Global Standards for Food Safety, Packaging Materials, Storage and Distribution, Consumer Products, Agents and Brokers, Retail, Gluten Free, Plant-Based and Ethical Trading set the benchmark for good manufacturing practice, and help provide assurance to customers that your products are safe, legal and of high quality.
